Griz is one of the most hard to reach villages in Shahdag region. Locals usually earn for living by carpet making, keeping animals and grazing them. In the past, Griz was a fortress, but now only the ruins remain from the original fortress.

Road to Quba.
Griz Waterfall Hiking Tour usually starts at 07:30 AM with picking guests up from their location within Baku.
First stop is the Quba district which is best known for its production of incredibly delicious apples and fine carpets. It takes about 2 hours to get there.
There we will switch our cars to off-road Niva Ladas or UAZs, that are more convenient to get to the mountain village.
Road to Griz Village.
On the way to the village, we shall see a large number of mind-blowing views. If you wish, we can even stop there to make some photos for memory. It takes an hour and a half to get there.

After arriving in the village you will have a short break. During this time, you can enjoy a cup of hot tea in the village house.
Griz Waterfall Hike.
After this tea break, we will start our easy 3 km hike to waterfall located in a little cave. In winter, the water in the cave freezes, that makes everything even more fabulous. Spectacular mountain panoramas will also not leave you indifferent.
Lunch Break.
After such a long journey we will hike back to Griz village, where local family will host us, and we will have lunch prepared with traditional Caucasian mountain recipe. All products used in preparation of the food is locally and organically grown.
The End of the Tour.
At the end of the tour the driver will drop you off to your location in the city center of Baku. The trip back takes approximately 3 and a half hours.
