Stop 1

Start your day with an amazing view of Old Lisbon, and learn about the first people that inhabited this region, even before the formation of Portugal.

Stop 2

On this second stop, observe the areas where the city grew to and listen to the History of the Christian Reconquer of the city, by our first King Afonso Henriques, in 1147.

Stop 3

Visit Lisbon Cathedral, built immediately after Christians took Lisbon, in 1147 and admire the church’s intricate stained glass rose window, reconstructed with fragments from the original, while learning about the reconstruction performed just last century.

Stop 4

Walk down and zigzag through crooked cobblestone streets lined with quaint cafes in Alfama, while breading and feeling the atmosphere of the oldest neighborhood in Lisbon.

Stop 5

Marvel at the stately Jerónimos Monastery, a national architectural treasure and visit its Church, where the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões rest among Kings and Queens and their family.

Have lunch in Belém, while having enough free time to enjoy the area, where you can shop, visit museums or just enjoy a sunny day.

Head riverside to visit Belém Tower’s stone fortress, learning some more about the expansion of the city and the need to defend its entrance from the sea.

Visit the Monument to the Age of Discoveries, a celebration of this period of Portuguese History, while listening to your guide telling you about the Discoveries process, while admiring the beautiful engraving in the ground facing the monument.

Head back to the city center tracing your path along the soaring 18th-century aqueduct. Stop at the Amoreiras district to uncover a historic hidden gem, the Mãe d'Água Reservoir.
