About this experience

This is a one day excursion to Luoyang, which is considered to be the East Capital of ancient China. Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple both belong to the world heritage and shows you more fascinating and diverse culture of China. Without worrying about the accommodation in another city, you can easily do this day trip via the fast speed train with Xi'an as headquarter. You will be picked up from your hotel at 6:30 by our driver to catch bullet train to Luoyang. After 1.5 hour train ride, you will be greeted by our local representative and start your tour by a car/van. You will visit the Shaolin Temple and the Kongfu show and then visit the Longmen Grottoes. Then transfer you to the Luoyang Longmen station to take the bullet train back to Xi'an. Once arriving in Xi'an, you can easily catch a taxi and go back to your hotel.

Stop 2

Our driver will pick you up in the morning at 6:30 and transfer you to Xi'an bullet train station. After you arrive in Luoyang Longmen station in 1.5 train ride, you will be greeted by our local English/Chinese speaking guide and start your visit. The grottoes of Longmen contains the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art of the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). These works, entirely devoted to the Buddhist religion, represent the peak of Chinese stone carving. It is one of the top 3 Grottoes heritage site in China. After the visit, our local guide will drop you off at Luoyang Longmen railway Station for the train back to Xian. Then make your way back to your hotel by convenient taxi from the station.

After picking you up from the train station, drive 1 hour to Shaolin Temple. Shaolin temple is reputed to be“the Number One Temple under Heaven”. Shaolin Temple and its Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the "Historic Monuments of Dengfeng."  Kongfu Show is the highlight of the temple visit.
