Built in the 16th century, the Convento da Arrábida covers, in its 25 hectares, the Convento Velho, located in the highest part of the mountain, the Convento Novo, located halfway up the slope, the Jardim and the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus. Azulejos de Azeitão uses the European traditional methods of tile making, and reproduces antique designs from, not only European countries, but Islamic and Chinese. We make flat hand painted tiles as well as relief tiles with different color glazes, in the style of Hispano-Moorish tiles of the 16th century.
