A one-way drive to Karlštejn Castle takes about 45 minutes and passes through the scenic Czech countryside with small villages. Located in the Central Bohemian region near Prague, this impressive Gothic castle was founded in 1348 to house the imperial crown jewels. You’ll have the chance to explore the medieval residential rooms of Emperor Charles IV. After arriving, you can choose from various interior tours the castle offers, and take a walk around the yards and walls. We also recommend visiting the precious “Golden” Chapel of the Holy Cross (tickets must be booked in advance; open from May 1st to October 31st).
As you descend from the castle, explore the charming village filled with galleries and shops. For nature lovers, a short walk to the nearby picturesque stone quarry known as “America” is an option.
This trip can be combined with a visit to the Bohemian glassworks, the Pilsner beer brewery, or Konopiště Chateau. Prices and duration will be adjusted for combined tours.
We will meet you the the reception of your hotel. Or at the street door area of your Prague apartment. Please let us know your phone number (with the prefix) so we can contact you in case of unexpected changes.
