Meet your guide at the Uken Village Outdoor Center (UKEN79), the starting point for your private jungle adventure. Receive a short briefing before venturing into the surrounding subtropical forest.

Follow a forest trail to ancient stone tombs of a village mayor’s family and a samurai, set amidst giant tree ferns and dense jungle. The area is still used for traditional Ryukyu wild boar hunting.

3

Take a short drive through Uken Village, then explore a jungle river trail. Cross the river along a rocky path and push through lush Amami foliage to reach a mountain cave once used by villagers centuries ago.

4

Walk Uken Village’s historic “god path,” passing the former shaman’s house and village canals. Visit the Habu viper pit and uncover the island’s living traditions.

5
