About this experience

If you’re visiting Berlin for the first time, this guided shore excursion offers a clear and respectful way to see both the city’s top landmarks and the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial. You’ll be picked up right at your cruise ship in Warnemünde or Rostock and travel comfortably to Berlin, where a local guide will introduce you to key highlights across the city.

In the afternoon, you’ll continue to Sachsenhausen, located about an hour outside Berlin, for a brief visit and overview of the site. Because it lies along the return route to port, this schedule helps reduce total travel time—though this tour includes more time on the bus than our standard Berlin-only option.

Each tour is carefully timed to your ship’s docking schedule, and we always return with time to spare. With nearly a decade of experience, we make sure your day is informative, well-paced, and completely cruise-friendly.

about three hours, giving you time to relax and enjoy the scenery. Your guide will meet you upon arrival
in the city.

2

have time to walk through its grand front courtyards and hear how it was built by King Frederick I for
his wife, Sophie-Charlotte. Your guide will share background on this elegant Baroque landmark and
help you capture some great photos.

3
Stop 3 Pass by

Tiergarten Drive Next, enjoy a scenic drive through Tiergarten, Berlin’s large central park. This peaceful
green space is home to important buildings and embassies, offering a calm and beautiful contrast to
the city’s busier areas.

4
Stop 4 Pass by

Victory Column As you circle the Victory Column, keep your camera ready. Your guide will explain the
story behind this golden-winged statue of Victoria, built to honor Prussia’s military victories in the 19th
century. It’s one of Berlin’s most eye-catching monuments.

5
Stop 5

Reichstag Building At the German Parliament building, you’ll step off the bus to continue your tour on
foot. The Reichstag was badly damaged in a fire during Hitler’s rise to power and now stands as a
symbol of modern German democracy. Your guide will give context to this powerful building and its
recent history.

in all of Germany. Once part of the Berlin Wall, it now represents peace and unity. Your guide will share
stories from its long and dramatic past.

7
Stop 7

Holocaust Memorial From Pariser Platz, you’ll visit the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.
Walking through the field of concrete blocks is a quiet and powerful moment. Your guide will give you
space for reflection while helping you understand the purpose and meaning behind the design.

8
Stop 8

Berlin Wall & Gestapo HQ Back on the bus, you’ll pass the former SS and Gestapo headquarters. Then,
stop to see the Berlin Wall, a powerful reminder of the Cold War. Your guide will explain how Berlin was
once divided and what daily life was like for people on both sides.

9
Stop 9

Checkpoint Charlie & Lunch Break Your next stop is Checkpoint Charlie, the most well-known crossing
point between East and West Berlin. Your guide will share stories from this historic spot before you take
a 30–45 minute lunch break. You’ll have time to enjoy a meal, use the restroom, and browse nearby
souvenir shops

10
Stop 10

Museum Island Drive-by & Transfer to Sachsenhausen After lunch, enjoy a drive past Museum
Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with historic buildings. Then, you’ll head to Sachsenhausen,
about an hour outside the city. Your guide will explain what to expect at the memorial site during the
ride.

Sachsenhausen Memorial Site When you arrive at Sachsenhausen, your guide will lead a 60–75
minute overview of the concentration camp memorial. This stop can be emotional and thought￾provoking, but your guide is there to support you and answer any questions.
