Welcome & Departure
As soon as your ship docks, a friendly team will be waiting to greet you right at the pier. From there,
you'll board a modern, air-conditioned bus and begin a smooth ride through the peaceful landscapes of
former East Germany. The drive to Berlin takes about three hours, giving you a comfortable and scenic
start to your day.
Arrival in Berlin
Once you arrive in Berlin, your English-speaking guide will join you. You'll get a chance to stretch your
legs while your guide gives a clear and easy-to-follow introduction to the city. This moment helps you
get settled before the walking part of the tour begins.
Kurfürstendamm Drive
You’ll begin with a relaxing drive down Kurfürstendamm, one of Berlin’s most famous streets. This
wide, elegant boulevard is filled with history and lined with beautiful buildings and well-known shops. It’s
a great way to start getting to know the city from the comfort of your seat.
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church
As you drive past the remains of a 19th-century church, your guide will explain how this site was
damaged during WWII. The ruins are a powerful reminder of the past and show how the city has rebuilt

KaDeWe Department Store
You’ll pass KaDeWe, the largest department store in continental Europe. It’s been part of Berlin’s

eichstag & Walking Tour Begins
You’ll step off the bus at the German parliament building to begin the walking part of your tour. Once
damaged during WWII, it now stands rebuilt as a symbol of German democracy. This is your chance to

Memorial to Sinti and Roma Victims
As you walk through the park, you’ll pause at a quiet memorial for victims of Nazi persecution. It’s a
brief but meaningful stop to reflect and learn more about this part of history.
Brandenburg Gate
You’ll walk through the Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks. Your guide will

Holocaust Memorial
Next, you’ll visit a striking memorial made up of large gray blocks. This outdoor space honors the
Jewish victims of the Holocaust. You’re welcome to walk through and reflect quietly as you take in the

Hitler’s Bunker Site & Lunch Break
Just a short walk from the memorial, you’ll see the site of Hitler’s former bunker. There’s not much to
look at, but your guide will explain its importance. Then, you’ll take a 45-minute break for lunch. Your
guide will help you find food and restrooms nearby.
Nikolaiviertel Drive
After lunch, you'll return to the bus and drive past Nikolaiviertel, the oldest part of Berlin. It has narrow
streets and historic buildings, offering a glimpse of how the city looked before modern times
TV Tower
As the bus continues, you’ll see the tall TV Tower built in East Berlin during the Cold War. It’s one of the
tallest structures in Europe and a clear sign of the city’s past and present.
Old & New Town Halls
Next, you’ll pass by the Old and New Town Halls and the Church of St. Mary. These buildings show
Berlin’s long history and how it has changed over time.
Museum Island Stop
You’ll stop briefly at Museum Island, a group of important buildings with beautiful architecture. Here
you’ll see the Old Museum, Berlin Cathedral, and the Berlin City Palace. It’s a chance to take photos
and enjoy the view.
Nazi Book Burning Memorial (Time Permitting)
If time allows, you’ll visit a small square where the Nazis burned thousands of books in 1933. There’s a
quiet memorial here, and your guide will explain what happened and why it matters.
Unter den Linden / Historical Boulevard
You’ll travel down one of Berlin’s most famous streets, filled with buildings that tell the story of its
imperial past. It’s a peaceful way to enjoy more of the city from your seat on the bus.
Gendarmenmarkt Square
You’ll stop at a lovely square known for its two domed churches and a large concert hall. It’s a favorite
place for visitors to take photos and enjoy the beauty of Berlin’s old architecture.
Checkpoint Charlie (Time Permitting)
If time allows, you’ll stop at Checkpoint Charlie, the former crossing point between East and West
Berlin. Your guide will share stories about what happened here during the Cold War. You may also
have time for a quick photo or souvenir.
Berlin Wall & Final Stop
Your last stop is one of the most powerful: the Berlin Wall and the former SS and Gestapo
headquarters. You’ll have time to look around and use the restrooms before getting back on the bus.
Your guide will then bring you to Schloss Charlottenburg, and from there, you’ll head back to your ship
feeling more connected to Berlin’s history.
This is the dock where Norwegian Dawn will be docking 13th of July. Choose this option if you are on this ship. All other ships go to Warnemünde.
