About this experience

A night excursion to enter as pilgrims in the history of San Leo starting from the old town, to reach passing through the woods, the monastery of Sant'Igne, a small architectural jewel immersed in the green countryside.
Here we can visit the main parts of the monastery discovering its medieval soul and experiencing the immense peace that this place emanates.
Upon our return we will cross the ridge to climb Mount San Severino to watch the city of San Leo shine in the night.

In the historic center of San Leo, the starting point of our excursion, we will see from the outside the fortress, one of the most incredible examples of Renaissance military architecture and the two churches, the Carolingian church and the Romanesque cathedral of San Leone. Continuing towards the only exit gate of the country we will understand why San Leo was considered an impregnable fortress-city

After the walk in the woods following the path we will arrive at the monastery of Sant'Igne, one of the oldest Franciscan monasteries built outside Umbria in the mid-13th century, a suggestive and magical place especially at night.
After entering the entrance we will visit the church in its elegant sobriety to enter the cloister, a place of recollection and peace ending our visit in the chapter room.
