Leaving Ponta Delgada, the first stop will be at Vila Franca do Campo, which was the first capital of São Miguel, located in the south coast, where it´s possible to watch the islet of Vila Franca and its interior crater.
Arriving at Furnas‘ valley, near Furnas Lake, we will observe some volcanic phenomena, known as fumaroles and you will also be able to watch how it’s cooked the famous Cozido das Furnas (Furnas stew), a gastronomic specialty of the Azores.
The tour is followed by a visit to Terra Nostra garden (optional) before the lunch (optional), which will give you the possibility to experience a thermal bath.
At Furnas village it is possible to notice more volcanic phenomena, where you can see the fumaroles in a mix of hot and fresh waters, some with medicinal properties.
On the way up, to the mountains, we will stop to watch the amazing view over Furnas valley, from Pico do Ferro‘s viewpoint.
Through the north coast, more precisely in Ribeira Grande, we will also visit the Gorreana tea plantation and its factory, where we can taste two types of tea – black and green tea.
The last stop will be at Santa Iria‘s viewpoint to appreciate a gorgeous view over the north coast.
