Enjoy a great day out in the mountains with the most impressive views from Mürren and the Lauterbrunnen valley, and from the famous mountain trio of Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. We'll hike past waterfalls, including a stop at the hidden gem of Sprutz, before making our way up peaceful trails to the cozy Rotstockhütte. We'll enjoy a delicious cake and refreshing drink at the hut with incredible views of the surrounding peaks, finishing in the charming village of Gimmelwald. This hike is perfect for travelers looking to combine a real mountain experience with unforgettable landscapes.
Located at the foot of the Schilthorn, this picturesque mountain village sits above the Lauterbrunnen Valley and is considered one of the most beautiful mountain villages in Switzerland. The area around the car-free village boasts excellent hiking and winter sports opportunities, impressive waterfalls and an incomparable view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
After walking for about 1.5 hours, we will arrive to Murren, and we will walk its tiny little streets, and admire the most amazing mountain views and its wooden chalets. We will make a small break and enjoy a delicious tea or hot chocolate before heading down to Gimmelwald.
Quiet. Traditional. Where there are more cows than people. Gimmelwald is a very unspoilt mountain farming village with around 100 inhabitants. They live here in close contact with nature and the animals. The village is characterised by chalets decorated with flowers in front of the four-thousand-metre-high Jungfrau mountain massif. The sound of cowbells is usually the only thing that "disturbs" the tranquil atmosphere.
In Gimmelwald we will enjoy a delicious and traditional swiss fondue and will walk through this little village main street, before taking the gondola and bus back to Lauterbrunnen.
Lauterbrunnen lies at 795 metres above sea level in an impressive trough valley between gigantic rock faces and peaks. 72 waterfalls cascade over the rock faces into the valley. We will pass by with the bus through Lauterbrunnen main street and attractions.
Once you go out from Lauterbrunnen train station, cross the street and we will meet outside the Lauterbrunnen-Grutschalp Gondola station
