About this experience

Materuni Waterfalls: the Village of Materuni sits at the edge of Mount Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. Your hike will pass through the winding village roads and within the lush rainforest.

Materuni Waterfall is one of the highest in the area, reaching a height of 80 meters. You are permitted to swim in the pool below the falls, but take note, the water is biting-cold, since it is sourced from glacier water, directly off the mountain.

Cultural Lunch: you will enjoy a tasty, freshly prepared local lunch and learn about the Chagga Tribe, who traditionally live at the base at Mount Kilimanjaro.

Chemka Hot Springs: Swim in the stunning clear waters of Chemka Hot Springs, an oasis of green surrounded by barren, rocky landscape. The waters are always warm, and there are two areas to choose from: a relaxing, quiet pool, or a more robust, swimming area with a rope swing for those adventurous travelers.
