The departure time for the trip is at 11:00 with a pick- up from your hotel in Sofia by a private car. At 11:45 you will arrive at the small village of Chekanchevo, nested in the “Sredna Gora” mountain. First, you will enjoy a leisurely stroll through the pine forest. The scenic path leads to a viewpoint where you can admire five distinct mountains, including the tallest on the peninsula, as well as a Roman monument dating back to the 4th century AD. Walk along the route taken by troops during Bulgaria's third most significant battle for liberation in 1877, a military achievement still studied in academies around the world.
After the walk, you will visit an authentic rural house and delight in a homemade three-course lunch (big portions!) prepared by “Mama” mother Tanya, featuring fresh local products sourced straight from the farm. The lunch also includes locally made “rakia” and wine.
In the late afternoon, your driver will bring you back to your place of staying in Sofia.
The total duration of the tour (4 hours) also includes the traveling time in both directions (45 minutes in each direction).
