Located at the intersection of Yanjiang Avenue and Panay Street in Hankou, Wuhan, Bagon Mansion is a famous historical building from the early 20th century.
Built: Around 1910-1913.
Original Owners: Constructed for the Bagon brothers (K.J. Bagon & S.J. Bagon), wealthy Russian tea merchants during the Tsarist era.
Architecture: A striking example of Russian-style architecture. Its most distinctive feature is its unique triangular "sharp angle" shape, resembling the bow of a ship, designed to fit the irregular intersection.
History: Originally an upscale apartment building for foreign businessmen and senior staff of foreign firms, reflecting Hankou's importance as an international trading port.
Significance: It's one of the largest preserved historical apartment buildings in Wuhan from that period and a landmark representing the multicultural history of Hankou's concessions. Its unique shape makes it instantly recognizable.
