Detailed itinerary

1

The castle of Óbidos, one of the 7 wonders of Portugal, has Roman and Moorish origins, being fortified by the Moors and reconquered by D. Afonso Henriques in 1148, becoming a wedding gift for the Portuguese queens (the "City of the Queen").

2
Stop 2

With a free hour in Óbidos, you can quietly stroll along Rua Direita, the main street of the village, where you will find craft shops, regional products and small traditional banks. Enjoy to taste the famous Ginjinha of Óbidos, served in a chocolate cup, available at various points along the street. Between a store and another, enjoy the medieval atmosphere, the blooming white houses and the unique charm of the walled village — a very tasty and memorable experience.

3

The Nazaré lighthouse in the Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo offers one of the most impressive views of the Portuguese coast. From there you can observe the strength of the Atlantic, with the famous giant waves of North Beach rising along the cliffs. It is the best place to feel the energy of the sea and witness the natural spectacle that made Nazareth known all over the world.

4

Visiting the city of Nazareth is to discover a place where tradition and sea walk side by side. Through the narrow streets by the sea you can feel the calm rhythm of an old fishing village, with the fisheries of “seven skirts”, the smell of grilled and the white facades illuminated by the sun. On the wide beach, life happens slowly, with colorful boats reminiscent of fishing stories. Going up the elevator to Sitio, you can see a magnificent view of the entire bay, while North Beach shows the strength of the Atlantic and its giant waves. Nazaré welcomes every visitor with authenticity, tradition and a natural beauty that impresses at any time of year.

5
Stop 5

The view of the North Beach in Nazaré is one of the most impressive in Portugal. From the top of the Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo, the sea seems infinite and reveals all the strength of the Atlantic. In winter, the giant waves turn the landscape into an intense spectacle, with water walls rising in front of the cliffs. Even on quiet days, the beach retains a wild and immense air, surrounded by the wind and the powerful sound of the sea. It is a place where nature shows its greatness and where each visit leaves a sense of deep admiration.
After enjoying the view, it is worth going down to the city and enjoying lunch at one of its restaurants, where the local gastronomy offers fresh fish, seafood and typical flavors that complete the Nazaré experience.
