About this experience

Experience Ålesund on an exclusive small-group tour with Lukas, a local expat who has made the coastal town his home and shares authentic insider insights.

We start at the fisherman boy statue, a symbol of Ålesund's maritime history, and learn how the clipfish trade shaped the city.

Along the water we discover Norway's engineering : tunnels, bridges and the world's first full-format ship tunnel. I will also explain how Norway used its oil and gas assets for long-term prosperity.

On the Königsstraße (Kongens gate) we admire the Art Nouveau, created after the city fire of 1904, and I show details that most visitors overlook.

Finally, we enjoy the harbour view. A digital brochure with insider tips completes the tour, with small groups providing a relaxed, personal experience – from a local and expat perspective.
