Stop 1

Your first stop will be at Plaza Botero, right in the center of Medellín, where you will discover the unique style of Fernando Botero, one of Colombia´s most famous artists. As you look at the proportionally exaggerated sculptures, you will learn about Botero’s sense of humor and irony.

Afterward, you will admire the world’s largest collection of his paintings in the adjacent Museum of Antioquia and have a look at pre-Hispanic, Colonial and Contemporary art and much more.ook over Medellín

Then, you will walk to Berrío Square, considered the heart of the city that was built in 1680. Located in the middle of the square you can see the Statue of Pedro Justo Berrío, who was once the governor of Antioquia and important politician for Medellín and Colombia. From there, you will walk to Junín Passage, a pedestrian street with all sorts of shops and local shops, bustling with street vendors and lively local life. After walking this little “rambla” for some minutes, you will go to Plaza de Bolívar, a place that holds the breathtaking Cathedral of Medellin where local tango singers folk together.
