Detailed itinerary

1

We will pass by the Mdina Gate, the majestic main entrance to the ancient city of Mdina. Also known as the Vilhena Gate, this grand Baroque gateway was built in 1724 and serves as a striking example of Malta’s rich architectural heritage. Adorned with intricate stonework and historical emblems, it stands as a symbol of the city’s noble past, offering a glimpse into the timeless charm of Mdina, often referred to as the "Silent City."

2

The statue of St. Paul stands beside the parish church dedicated to the same saint, set within a picturesque piazza at the heart of Rabat. This charming square, rich in history and character, serves as a focal point of the town. Additionally, we have the opportunity to visit a small yet fascinating catacomb, offering a glimpse into Malta’s early Christian heritage.

3

Serving as a burial ground from Punic, Roman and Byzantine times the St Paul’s Catacombs represent the earliest and largest archaeological evidence of Christianity in Malta. It’s association to the saint derives from the myth that this cluster of catacombs was once connected with St Paul’s Grotto.

4

St. Magdalene’s Chapel, perched atop the breathtaking Dingli Cliffs, is a charming 17th-century chapel offering stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. As the highest point in Malta, the cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop, making this site both serene and awe-inspiring. The chapel itself, dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene, is a modest yet historically significant structure, reflecting Malta’s deep religious and cultural heritage. While here, we will also have the opportunity to enjoy a small tasting of Maltese delights, enhancing our experience at this magnificent location.

5

Buskett Gardens, Malta’s only woodland area, is a lush retreat near Siġġiewi, originally planted by the Knights of St. John for hunting. This serene oasis is home to diverse flora, including Mediterranean pines, citrus trees, and native shrubs. Visitors can explore shaded pathways, enjoy panoramic views from Verdala Palace, and spot local wildlife like birds and rabbits. The gardens offer a peaceful escape, perfect for a nature walk or a relaxing break amid Malta’s natural beauty.

The Blue Grotto, a stunning natural wonder on Malta’s southern coast, is famous for its vibrant blue waters and impressive sea caves. Carved by centuries of waves, these caves reflect sunlight, creating dazzling hues of blue and turquoise. Visitors can take a boat trip to explore the grotto up close, marvel at the crystal-clear waters, and witness breathtaking coastal views. This site is a must-see for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking Malta’s natural beauty. Here you will enjoy a light lunch included in your ticket.
