This former site of the old capitol has a moat and ten ornate gates guarding a palace, temples, gardens and tombs. Its most prominent feature is a tall flag tower.

Stop 2

Address: Huong Tho commune, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province Located in Cam Khe mount, Minh Mang tomb is located near Bang Lang intersection, about 14km from Hue city. The construction was commenced under Emperor Thieu Tri's reign from September 1840 to 1843.

Possibly Hue’s most recognizable landmark, this pagoda contains numerous living and working buildings for its resident monks, a bell tower and a seven-tiered monument in front.

Address: Thuy Bang commune, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province Being crowned in 1916, Khai Dinh is the twelfth emperor of Nguyen dynasty. He is also the last emperor of Nguyen dynasty to prepare himself a "home in another world". Khai Dinh tomb was constructed on Chau Chu mount (also called Chau E) about 10km from Hue city. Being commenced on September 4, 1920, it took 11 years to complete Khai Dinh tomb.
