Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima is one of the most famous Marian sanctuaries in the world. About four million people visit Fatima each year, attracted by the apparitions of the Virgin Mary by three child shepherds in 1917.

2
Stop 2

The Dominican Monastery of the Battle was built to commemorate the Portuguese victory over the Castillans at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385.

3
Stop 3

It is the first fully Gothic work erected on Portuguese soil, having been started its construction in 1178 by the monks of the Order of Cister.

4

Nazaré is one of the best beach resorts in Portugal, and is an excellent holiday destination. The city is located in a wide bay of golden sands and is in the shade of the imposing promontory of Sitio. Historically, this promontory provided shelter for the fishing fleet and the boats were anchored high in the sands, protected from the ferociousness of the ocean.

5
Stop 5

Óbidos is the classic Portuguese fortified city, and is one of the most picturesque places in Portugal. Óbidos radiates Portuguese charm, from the narrow streets of paralelepipedes and picturesque houses to the imposing medieval castle, which protected the region.
