Detailed itinerary

1

Óbidos was home to Celts, Romans, Visigoths and Moors.
Offered to queens as a dowry, it is preserved with the love that has always been given to it.
Before you enter the Castle walls I have a surprise to warm up your hearts.
Then it's time to walk through the magnificent narrow streets of this unique and picturesque medieval white village that was conquered to the Moors in 1148, one year after Lisbon.

2

This old fishermen's town is now worldwide known for it's gigantic waves that have reached over 100 feet high.
Nazaré is also known for the traditional costume worn by ladies and also made by them as they grow up. I'm talking about the 7 skirts. Each one representing a day of the week, a wave from the ocean or a color from the rainbow. You'll see it live when I introduce you to Mrs. Carolina.

3

After lunch we head to Costa Nova to stretch our legs along the only avenue of this old fishermen´s town located between the river and the ocean.
The unique and beautiful wooden houses painted in colorful stripes, were in the old days, the fishermen's warehouses. Bring an extra memory card......

4

Aveiro is known as the Portuguese Venice due to it's beautiful navigable canals where the traditional boat called "Moliceiro" is the only means of transport.
It's also the city-museum for Art Nouveau in Portugal due to the concentration of buildings in this architectural style.
The high quality salt extracted here is mostly exported and used to dry cod fish. Did you know that the Portuguese are the biggest consumers of cod fish in the world?
And that we have a book with 1001 recipes just for cod fish?
And of course the egg sweet of Aveiro so well known in Portuguese gastronomy.
There's a surprise for you here....
