About this experience

Discover the heart of Basque wine culture with a guided tour of a traditional Txakoli Winery and the charming coastal town of Getaria. From San Sebastian, you will venture towards Getaria, a picturesque fishing village renowned for its fine fish restaurants, being the birthplace of Juan Sebastian Elcano (the Basque sailor who completed the first voyage around the world), the famous fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga, and, of course, Txakoli Wine. After discovering Getaria, we will head to a family-run Txakoli Winery to learn about the unique production process of Txakoli. Start with a stroll through lush Txakoli vineyards overlooking the sea and immerse yourself in the world of Txakoli inside the winery. After the winery visit, we will enjoy a tasting of this crisp, lightly sparkling white wine paired with local specialties.
