Destacam-se os painéis de azulejos no interior, retratando as várias atividades económicas da cidade, da autoria do gravador e pintor português Pedro Pinto, datados de 1929.

O seu clima é temperado mediterrânico, apresentando uma flora rica em espécies mediterrânicas, tais como a azinheira, sobreiro, carvalho.
