Nyoirin-ji Temple is a Jodo sect temple located on Mt. Yoshino in Nara Prefecture, with ties to the Southern Court. It is known as the imperial temple of Emperor Go-Daigo. The tomb of Emperor Go-Daigo is located within the temple grounds, and the temple has deep historical ties to the Yoshino area. At the same time, the temple grounds are lined with approximately 10,000 humorous frog statues, and the temple is affectionately known as “Frog Temple.”
