Stop 2

Take a close look at Alov Towers, an example of Baku's modern architecture
Relatively new to the skyline—they were only completed in 2012 the three glass skyscrapers that comprise the Flame Towers have already become iconic. The three towers sit atop a hill overlooking the old city center and Baku Bay and were inspired by the ancient practice of fire worship in Azerbaijan. By day, the blue-tinted reflective towers are impressive, but they’re truly spectacular after dark when their surfaces become a giant display of more than 10,000 LED lights that paint the towers with colors of fire, water, or the national flag. The buildings’ interiors house mostly offices and residences, but also notably the Fairmont Baku Hotel.

3

Explore the Maiden's Castle, Baku's oldest monument

The Maiden Tower is a historical monument located in the Old City (Icherisheher) of Baku, Azerbaijan. Believed to have been built in the 12th century, it is a symbol of Baku and an important part of its skyline. The tower's exact origins and purpose are still debated, with theories ranging from it being a defensive structure to an ancient Zoroastrian temple. The Maiden Tower stands about 29.5 meters tall and features an intriguing spiral staircase and a panoramic view from the top, making it a popular tourist attraction. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

4

Read microscopic books in the world's first miniature book museum
The Baku Museum of Miniature Books is a unique cultural landmark located in the heart of Baku, Azerbaijan. Established by Zarifa Salahova, it is the only museum in the world dedicated exclusively to miniature books. The museum boasts an impressive collection of over 6,500 miniature books from around 70 countries. These tiny books cover a wide range of topics and are written in various languages, offering a fascinating glimpse into the world of miniature literature. The museum aims to promote literacy and the art of bookmaking on a miniature scale.

5

Use the panorama with the Baku Ferris wheel and get a bird's eye view of the fascinating places of Baku. The Baku Ferris Wheel, also known as the Baku Eye, is a prominent attraction on Baku Boulevard in Azerbaijan. Opened in 2014, the Ferris wheel stands 60 meters tall and features 30 cabins, each capable of holding eight passengers. Offering stunning views of the Caspian Sea and the Baku skyline, it provides a unique and leisurely way to take in the city's sights. The ride lasts approximately 30 minutes, allowing ample time to enjoy the panoramic scenery.
