Next you have time to explore the narrow and old streets of Sintra where kings and their courts used to spend summer time.

The Pena Palace represents one of the main expressions of nineteenth-century architectural Romanticism in the world, being the first palace of this style in Portugal. It ts a 19th century palace surrounded by the national park of Sintra with direct view to the Moorish Castle and to the sea, where caravels were seen coming and going from India, Brazil and other places around the globe.

Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of mainland Portugal and mainland Europe. Luís Vaz de Camões described it as the place "Where the land ends and the sea begins". It is part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and there is a lighthouse in the area

With the largest casino in Portugal, it was here that Dusko Popov, the double agent, was the inspiration for Ian Fleming to write the famous 007, the book of the most famous spy in the world.
