Boat Based Whale Watching
The whale watching trip begins with an on-land briefing led by our whale specialist guide before heading down the jetty to our catamaran. We then set off from the Hermanus New Harbour in search of the ‘gentle giants.’ The purpose-built catamaran provides superior viewing and comfort and during the tour and the friendly, knowledgeable crew add that personal touch allowing for an all-round great experience. Our Whale Specialist guide will interpret the marine life encountered en route and provide insight into the behaviour of the whales while you are watching them in action. Our videographer will ensure that the best footage is captured.

During this full-day whale watching tour, travelers will be picked up from their accommodation in Cape Town and travel by comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle along the scenic coastline toward Hermanus. Along the way, there will be opportunities to enjoy ocean views and take photos.

Once in Hermanus, travelers will experience one of the world’s best land-based whale watching locations. They will walk along the famous cliff paths and viewpoints, where whales are often seen close to shore during the whale season. The guide will share information about whale behavior, migration, and the local marine environment.

Travelers will have free time to explore the town at their own pace, enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant, browse local markets, or relax by the ocean. For those who wish, an optional boat-based whale watching experience is available at an additional cost and can be arranged locally.
