Gallery visit. 3+1 Arte Contemporânea, founded in Lisbon in February 2007, was created with the aim of promoting Portuguese and international artists, focusing on original proposals that emphasize the diversity that qualifies contemporary artistic practices. The gallery has distinguished itself by presenting international artists little known to the Portuguese public, along with emerging national talents of exceptional quality. 3+1 intends to continue broadening its horizons by investing in internationalization.

3

Gallery visit. In 2017, Fred Jahn and Matthias Jahn’s galleries merged to form Jahn und Jahn (Munich). In 2022, Jahn and Jahn founded a gallery in Lisbon, Portugal. Close collaboration with the artists as well as a thorough understanding of forms of artistic expression have been central to the identity of the galleries from the beginning. Significant here are also the numerous publications, published by the galleries themselves, which have accompanied exhibitions in both locations. Jahn und Jahn intends to continue in this vein.

4

Gallery visit. Foco Gallery is a nucleus and context for artistic and interdisciplinary engagement. Founded by Benjamin Gonthier, Foco Gallery promotes International and Portuguese artists working across media. Generating exhibitions, performances, and discourses, Foco Gallery remains contemporary.

After five years of creation and presentation at Rua da Alegria in Lisbon, Foco Gallery is pleased to explore its new space in the city.
A renovated car dealership now houses the main gallery, in the Intendente neighborhood. The two floors connected by a car lift, and the massive window on the street give a new dimension to the gallery’s projects.
