A replica of the boat that, in 1808, crossed the Atlantic Ocean carrying 19 (the official number) fishermen from Olhão to Brazil, where the king of Portugal was in refuge. The mission was to inform the king that the Napoleonic invader had retreated due to the bravery of irregular troops composed of fishermen and peasants from the Olhão area, with the support of a few Portuguese soldiers who had remained during the invasions. The boat is located in front of Olhão Markets, which is the main public fish market in the Algarve. This market, which also includes a building for the sale of agricultural products, was constructed in 1908 to mark the centenary of Olhão's elevation to town status. This was, in fact, another reason for the journey of Bom Sucesso caique to Brazil: to demand from the king the administrative autonomy of Olhão from Faro.
Stop for a visit. Includes a watch of the beauty of the island that is considered by many as the Portuguese Caribbean

A guide will provide explanations about all of this as the tour is made in the lagune in a calm and relaxing manner. It will spend about half time of the all tour.
