Enjoy a truly Canadian experience of driving your own dogsled through the Laurentian wilderness. From the moment you arrive at the kennel, you are greeted by the sound of the sled dogs who are eagerly awaiting to run! Along with your guide, you will meet your team before setting out on about a 1-hour long ride through forests, over field trails and hilly terrain with your dogs. Participants can drive their own sled, or ride as a passenger and switch places at the mid-point. Hot-chocolate will be served to help you warm up and give you a chance to chat with our guides and spend time with the dogs.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of your dogsled excursion. Once you have arrived, make your way to the yurt where you will be greeted your guide (and welcomed by our enthusiastic dogs!).
• WHAT TO WEAR:
Low intensity for passengers who won't be driving the sled.
Warm boots, snowsuits, gloves; tuque and even hot pads are suggested. Ski helmet is recommended.
Moderate to high intensity for drivers
Dress in layers. Drivers will sometimes be standing still and sometimes will be running along the sled. Drivers will be using the foot brake which kicks up snow onto your pants. Good boots are important for this activity. On snowy or windy days we suggest you bring ski goggles if you have them.
Participants must arrive on time.
