Detailed itinerary

1

The Sinarca Tower of Termoli is an ancient coastal tower located on the northern seafront of the city. Built during the medieval period, probably in the 12th century, the tower was part of the defense system of the Adriatic coast to protect the city from attacks by pirates and maritime enemies.

Featuring a massive limestone structure, the Sinarca Tower stands majestically on the cliff, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the blue Adriatic Sea. Its strategic position testifies to the crucial role it played in the surveillance and defense of the Termoli coasts.

2

Termoli, an enchanting medieval village on the Adriatic coast of Molise, is a blast from the past among narrow cobblestone streets and ancient stone houses. Its historic walls embrace the center, guarding secrets of centuries of history. The Swabian Castle, imposing on the top of the promontory, dominates the horizon and offers breathtaking views. The churches, such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Purificazione and the Church of San Antonio Abate, tell the stories of times gone by. The alleys, animated by the colors and scents of the artisan shops and small restaurants, invite you to get lost and discover the intact beauty of this jewel.

3

The Cathedral of Termoli, dedicated to Santa Maria della Purificazione, is an architectural jewel located in the heart of the historic center of the city. Built between the 11th and 12th centuries, it represents a superb example of Apulian and Molise Romanesque architecture.

The exterior of the cathedral is characterized by an imposing facade, enriched by a magnificent central rose window and sculpted decorations that testify to the mastery of the artists of the time. The simple and elegant lines give a sense of grandeur and sacredness to the building.

Inside, the cathedral welcomes visitors with an evocative atmosphere of spirituality and history. The marble columns, round arches and cross vaults create a solemn and majestic environment. Numerous works of art enrich the interiors, including medieval frescoes and baroque altars, testimony to the cultural and religious richness of Termoli over the centuries.

4

The Trabucco Celestino of Termoli is a living testimony to the thousand-year-old maritime tradition of the Adriatic coast. Located along the city's picturesque waterfront, this ancient trebuchet represents a symbol of the art of traditional fishing that dates back centuries.

The structure of the Trabucco Celestino is made up of a complex system of wooden beams and ropes, firmly anchored to the cliff and extended into the sea. The trebuchet stands out for its unique architecture, characterized by a protruding platform, called "sketch", on which the fishing nets are arranged.

5

The Swabian Castle of Termoli is a majestic fortress located on the promontory overlooking the historic center of the city. Built in the 12th century by the Swabians, the castle represents an impressive testimony to Termoli's medieval past and its strategic importance along the Adriatic coast.

The structure of the castle is spread over several levels, with imposing stone walls surrounding an internal courtyard. The watchtowers, still well preserved, offer a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the sea.

6

The “Il Sogno” Monument was built in 2013, on the southern promenade of Rio Vivo, in Termoli, in the exact point where the 42nd parallel and the 15th meridian meet. The monument is 7 meters high and 4 meters wide, with a thickness of 40 centimeters and with characteristic lights in the upper part of the structure. It was donated to the city by the Italian Association of Surveyors and Topographers.

7

The "Borgo Dipinto" of Campomarino is a fascinating reality located along the Adriatic coast of Molise, in the municipality of Campomarino. This charming village is known for its houses painted in bright pastel colors which create a unique and picturesque atmosphere.

The houses of the Painted Village are decorated with murals, paintings and graffiti created by local and international artists, transforming the narrow streets and alleys into a true open-air art gallery. Every corner reveals works of art with various themes, ranging from nature to local history, from culture to tradition.

After the visit to the painted village there will be a tasting in an oil mill or wine cellar.
