See the Capelinha das Aparições marks the spot where the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared in 1917. Then visit the Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, with its golden angels, and the modern church of Igreja da Santíssima Trindade. Finally visite the Museu de Arte Sacra e Etnologia exhibits religious artifacts.

2

Nazaré is a town and a municipality in subregion Oeste and Leiria District, in historical Estremadura province of Portugal. It is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Silver Coast, Portugal. See and marvel at Some of the Biggest Surf in the World. Visit O Sitio, atop the cliffs and see the famous Nazaré beach.

3

Visit the town walls of Obidos completely encircle the town and it is possible to walk the entire perimeter. From the walls there are wonderful views over the terracotta tiled roofs and white painted houses of the town. See the main gate into Obidos contains a beautiful tiled chapel that overlooks the main thoroughfare. The blue and white 18th century glazed tiles, called Azulejo, depict the passion of Christ while the ceiling represents the crown of thorns.

Nazare, named after the Biblical “Nazareth” in the 4th century, is Portugal’s most famous fishing village, now becoming important as well in the world of big wave, tow-in surfing. The tallest wave ever recorded being surfed – by a Hawaiian big-wave surfer – was off Nazare.
Nazare is known also for the varied cuisine and wines probably one the best place to eat fresh fish or seafood in Portugal.
Portuguese Lunch is included in the Tour price

5

Visit Sitio - The village of Sítio da Nazaré and the Sítio headland contain the prominent tourist attractions of Nazaré, and is the area to explore on a day trip. Sítio da Nazaré is located at the top of Monte Sítio and the village has a pretty historic centre along with wonderful views of the coastline.

At the centre of Sítio is the grand baroque Igreja Nossa Senhora da Nazaré church, which houses an ancient statue of the Virgin Mary. This small statue is unique, as it is a Black Madonna feeding baby Jesus. The statue is believed to have been carved in Nazareth (Israel), and its arrival in Nazaré (Portugal) gave the town its name.
