It is best known for its stunning views of Table Mountain across Table Bay, making it one of the most iconic photo spots in the country. The beach is popular for kite surfing, windsurfing, and beach walks, thanks to its consistent winds and wide sandy shores.The name "Bloubergstrand" comes from Afrikaans, meaning "Blue Mountain Beach" "blou" (blue), "berg" (mountain), and "strand" (beach).
