In Den Gamle By, you become one with history, and you are able to smell, taste, and feel your way forward while exploring the streets and passages, looking into people’s homes, and striking a bargain in one of the historical shops.
Throughout the museum, you will meet people in historical costumes who will show you around and tell you about the exhibits. It’s almost like being there yourself.

The Christmas shop
Visit the Christmas shop, where you can buy hand-painted glass ornaments.
Handicrafts
Find Christmas gifts in the stalls on the first floor in Bendtsen Warehouse. Open everyday from 15 - 23 December.
Lunch at Restaurant Gæstgivergården
Have a break and taste Danish Christmas traditions.

For those who had enough of the "old ways". It is possible to cross from the museum directly into downtown Aarhus and the walking street, just some 10 minutes walk from the museum.

You decide how you spend your time between the "Den Gamle By" and maybe a walk in nowadays Aarhus.
So the set time displayed here is just to add this information and option for you as a traveler.

On the catamaran ferry between the island of Zealand and the peninsula of Jutland where the "Den Gamle By"/Old Town is located.
There will be a morning Danish-ferry-style brunch. (included in the price of the tour)
On the way back, included in the tour price, is a Danish-Style dinner buffet.
The journey is set to be 1 hour 30 minutes—each way.

Onboard the ferry there is also time for resting and a play area for the kids.

There is NO childrens seats avaliable on the bus.
