Stop 2

Teylers Museum is the first and oldest museum in the Netherlands, located in Haarlem. Come and marvel at art, science, and history.

How did we get it here? And who visited this place more than once?

3

This river was of great importance for Haarlem and all the other cities in Holland; there was a tide schedule for boats.

You could take a boat every hour to Amsterdam.

It was slow, but way more convenient than a carriage. And you could bring everything.

So, this waterway has a lot of stories and importance for Haarlem.

4

As the churches are not as busy anymore, the Dutch have found new ways to use the buildings. A beautiful example is the Jopenkerk in Haarlem – a great place to go and taste beers after tours.

5

There is a lot to see on this square and various good reasons to either visit or avoid it. Join the tour as we explain all the insights about this square.

6

On the Grote Markt, we start and end the tour. There is a lot to see here, and even more on the tour, as we cover in this short list of attractions. Additionally, different guides take different routes and share unique stories.
