Detailed itinerary

1

Tour participants should meet at the Yellow Velo store at 9 am (the tour will begin at 9.15 am). We’re located in the heart of Interlaken, just a 5-minute walk from Interlaken West train station.
Store Address
Yellow Velo, Postgasse 11, 3800 Interlaken, Switzerland
Here you will also have the chance to buy any suncream, water, soft drinks, and sunglasses you may need.

2

The first part of the tour takes us out of Interlaken city center and along the turquoise Aare River for approximately 30 minutes. The route is on a flat cycle path through a wooded area alongside the river where we may pass the passenger boat also making its way to the lake.

3
Stop 3

Our ride will bring us to Lake Thun, where the river Aare and the boat canal both meet. In the distance you can see the spectacular Niesen mountain. Here you will have chance to take photos of this truly beautiful place.

4

The Weissenau ruins are the ruins of a medieval low castle. The castle and the associated harbour were built in the 13th century as an imperial castle to secure and control the movement of goods over the Alpine passes.

5

Bike Ride back towards Interlaken through farmland with impressive 360 views of the surrounding valley including the Harder mountain and the mountain village of Beatenburg.

6

Our bike ride leads us to Unterseen Old Town named Stadthausplatz after the historical town house in the middle of the square. Since the town was founded in 1279, the town house has been the hub of public life. The first tourists that visited the Bernese Oberland stayed here.

Check out the increadible views over the valley and lakes from this medieval ruin.

And if you want to stay and enjoy the sunshine, we can also offer discounted bike rental so that you can return the bike at your leisure!
