Departing from Cape Town at 8am, your journey takes you into the heart of the Cape Winelands, home to the historic towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. As you leave the city behind, the landscape transforms into rolling vineyards, dramatic mountain ranges, and charming Cape Dutch architecture. Stellenbosch, with its oak-lined streets and centuries-old wine estates, offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and fine wines. Here, you can enjoy tastings at world-class estates. First we do a brief tour of Stellenbosch.

Our first wine tasting is the Delaire Graff Estate, one of the most prestigious and breathtaking wine estates in the Stellenbosch Winelands. Nestled on the Helshoogte Pass, this estate is renowned not only for its award-winning wines but also for its spectacular setting, offering sweeping views of vineyards, valleys, and distant mountains. The estate combines fine winemaking with luxury, featuring contemporary architecture, striking art collections, and beautifully landscaped gardens that make it a feast for the senses.

From Delaire Graff Estate, the journey continues a short distance on the Helshoogte Pass to the equally celebrated Tokara Wine Estate, combining fine wines with contemporary design and breathtaking views. Tokara is famed for its commitment to excellence, producing wines that are elegant, expressive, and deeply connected to the terroir of Stellenbosch. The estate sits high on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountains, offering sweeping vistas over vineyards, olive groves, and all the way to False Bay on a clear day.

Your wine tasting here introduces you to Tokara’s acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Bordeaux-style blends, which consistently receive international recognition. The tasting room itself is a modern architectural gem, where glass walls open to the views and striking pieces of South African contemporary art add a touch of culture to the experience. Alongside wine, Tokara also produces award-winning olive oils, often available for tasting to complement the wines.

From Tokara Wine Estate, the tour continues to the charming Zorgvliet Wine Estate, a family-owned estate renowned for its award-winning wines and relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Nestled at the foot of the Helderberg Mountains, Zorgvliet combines scenic beauty with exceptional winemaking, offering visitors a chance to taste wines crafted with precision from grapes grown in the estate’s fertile vineyards. The estate is particularly known for its Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, each reflecting the rich soils and favorable climate of the Helderberg region.

A brief tour of Franschhoek offers a delightful glimpse into one of South Africa’s most charming and historic towns. Known as the “Food and Wine Capital”, Franschhoek is nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by the Drakenstein Mountains, and is celebrated for its French Huguenot heritage, elegant Cape Dutch architecture, and world-class wineries. During a short tour, you can stroll along the quaint streets, explore boutique shops, art galleries, and sample local delicacies at cafes and patisseries.
