Take a private 3 night 4 day safari tour of the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve and visit the St. Lucia wetland reserve. This is a specialized, fully inclusive private safari, with a hippo and crocodile boat cruise and visit to the Cheetah rehabilitation center (optional extra).
Spend 2 nights in the Hluhluwe Game reserve, for your Big 5 safari experience. Your last night is in the quaint tourist town of St. Lucia, bordering on the isimangaliso Wetland Park. Here you will have an included boat cruise and visit the beautiful Cape Vidal beach for the day.
The trip includes all guided transfers, entrance fees, activities, accommodation and meals where stipulated.
You will be collected in Durban or the airport and transported north to the wild area of Zululand. Your guide will point out interesting sights along the way as you drive through the beautiful countryside.
On arrival at Hluhluwe town you will visit the Cheetah Rehabilitation Center. Here you will get to interact and learn about these amazing cats and their conservation struggles in Africa. Also see and interact with other wild cats such as serval, caracal and African wild cats. After this once and a lifetime experience make your way across to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve for your Big 5 safari! You will spend the next 2 days driving around the reserve on game drives searching for animals, birds and general wildlife, with your highly experienced wildlife guide on hand to unlock the wonders of nature!
Enjoy comfortable and unique accommodation in the Park camps, with meals under the stars at night and hot brunches in the bush in the morning. Game drives will take place early morning and late afternoon, the best and most productive time to find the big game animals, with a special night safari with the Park rangers included.
After brunch on the third day the tour makes its way across to the coastline and the unique town of St. Lucia, the only town in the world to be completely surrounded by a national park. After checking into your lodge take a sunset boat cruise on the estuary where sightings of hippos are guaranteed, as well as crocs and a whole host of birdlife!
Dinner is out in this spectacular little town, where it is not uncommon to have hippos taking a leisurely stroll down main street! Dinner is for your own account, the only meal not included. Then it is off to bed for a well earned rest. The following morning we have breakfast at the lodge and then check out and head for the iSimangaliso Wetland Reserve. Spend the day exploring the reserve, ending at Cape Vidal beach an unspoiled paradise. Here you will have a picnic lunch, but watch your food carefully or else the monkeys will be the ones with the full tummies, not you!
Then exit the reserve and make your way back to Durban after a truly exhilarating wildlife experience.
