Detailed itinerary

1

Located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, Lake Tōya Onsen is a rare place where volcanic energy and peaceful nature coexist.
Formed by ancient eruptions, the lake reflects the sky like glass, while Mount Usu, an active volcano, rises nearby.

Natural hot springs warmed by the earth’s power invite visitors to relax and heal.
Along the lakeside, ryokans, footbaths, and cozy cafés create a gentle rhythm of life.
From spring to autumn, nightly fireworks over the lake make every evening unforgettable.

A visit to Lake Tōya Onsen is a journey into tranquility, warmth, and living nature.

2

At the Silo Observatory Area, you can enjoy one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Tōya and Mount Usu.
This scenic spot isn’t just about the view — it’s also a fun photo location!

In the open plaza, you’ll find a trick-art “door to the sky”, where visitors can take creative and eye-catching photos that look like stepping into another world.
It’s the perfect place to capture memories surrounded by Hokkaido’s stunning nature.

Let's make interesting trick photo at here!

3

In the quiet countryside near Lake Tōya, Mount Shōwa-shinzan stands as one of the world’s youngest volcanoes —
born suddenly from the earth in 1943.
While the world was at war, the ground here rose dramatically, fields cracked, and smoke poured from the soil.
Within two years, a mountain over 400 meters high had appeared — a living reminder of nature’s unstoppable power.

Today, Shōwa-shinzan still emits thin plumes of steam, a sign that the volcano is very much alive.
From the base, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Usu, Lake Tōya, and the surrounding hot spring towns.
This is not just a sightseeing spot — it’s a place where you can witness the Earth’s heartbeat.

4

Step into Jigokudani, or “Hell Valley,” the dramatic birthplace of Noboribetsu’s hot springs.
Here, steam billows from the earth, sulfur fills the air, and the ground itself seems alive —
a breathtaking reminder that Hokkaido sits atop powerful volcanic forces.

Walk along the wooden trails winding through bubbling pools, hissing vents, and colorful mineral deposits.
Each step reveals a new glimpse of nature’s raw energy and beauty.

At night, the valley takes on an otherworldly glow, with mist and light turning the landscape into something almost magical.
This is more than just a sightseeing spot — it’s a journey to the center of the Earth.

5

Step into the mystical world of Noboribetsu Onsen Town, where steam rises from the earth and the legendary Enma, the King of Hell, watches over the streets.
This lively hot spring district is famous for its unique demon statues, traditional onsen ryokan, and even a specialty wasabi shop that adds a spicy twist to your visit!

Take a stroll through the charming streets, enjoy the aroma of sulfur drifting through the air, and experience the fiery spirit that makes Noboribetsu one of Hokkaido’s most unforgettable destinations.
You might find some good souvenir at here!

6

Perched high above the famous Noboribetsu hot spring valley,
Noboribetsu Bear Park is home to over 100 powerful yet playful brown bears,
a symbol of Hokkaido’s untamed wilderness.

Ride the scenic ropeway up the mountain and step into a world where you can watch bears roam, play, and interact up close — safely and comfortably.
Feed them with special “bear cookies,” and you’ll see them wave, bow, or even make funny faces to get your attention!

Beyond the fun, the park also offers a Bear Museum and a Native Ainu cultural exhibit,
where you can learn how people have lived alongside these majestic creatures for centuries.

From the top, the panoramic view of Noboribetsu Onsen and the surrounding volcanic mountains
makes it an unforgettable blend of wildlife, culture, and breathtaking scenery.
