Simose Art Museum makes the best of its location, with panoramic views of Japan’s Inland Sea and the Setouchi Islands. While the museum offers scheduled exhibitions, it is also a fascinating representation of the work of Shigeru Ban, one of Japan’s most celebrated architects and the man responsible for the design of this remarkable place. It awarded the Prix Versailles by UNESCO as the “World’s Most Beautiful Museum”!
The facilities include a spacious main building and colorful box-like waterfront galleries that can be moved depending on the exhibitions—which include both traditional Japanese crafts and contemporary works.

Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on the island of Itsukushima, best known for its "floating" torii gate. It is in the city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan, accessible from the mainland by ferry at Miyajimaguchi Station.
