About this experience

On this private tour, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the emblematic city of Évora. Here, we will walk through the historic centre where you will visit a 2000 year old roman temple, the largest medieval cathedral in the country, the famous Giraldo square, the São Francisco Church and its famous bone chapel as your tour guide tells you stories of the past from each site you visit.
You will pass by many shops, cafés and restaurants where you will see many shops selling cork items, and many places decorate their shops/restaurants with cork.
From here, we head to our next stop, the spectacular Monsaraz Castle, at the top of the hill, where people still live in until today.
Either in Évora or at the castle you may have lunch. After exploring the castle we head back to Lisbon(or where your hotel is located).

You will visit this roman forum of approximately 2000 years old, an ex-libris of the city. Other interesting sites surrounding it.

Stop 2

The biggest medieval cathedral in Portugal of gothic-manueline architecture, where its construction began in the latter 12 century and finished in the mid 13th century. An iconic monument of the city.

Stop 3

The main square of the city well all the streets in the historic centre lead here. Enjoying the beautiful arches and buildings surrounding it, and ofcourse the magnificent barroque fountain.

Stop 4

The church dates back to the 13th century as the first home of the Franciscan order. Later, it was restored in the late 15th century, where it was of great importance to the royal family when they resided in Évora.

Stop 5

Your guide will purchase the tickets for you to visit this iconic chapel where the walls and pillars are covered in human bones.

Visit a medieval castle at the top of a hill. Explore the streets and take in the spectacular views from the top overlooking the landscape where you can see the massive Alqueva dam.

What's not included

Évora has many nice restaurants, however, it is also possible to have lunch at the Monsarraz castle where you can enjoy lunch overlooking the stunning views.
