It is really beautiful garden, with a lot of different types of trees and flowers. I love it that there are signs in front of different types of trees that give you more information on them. You can pass this garden on your way to the castle, but it can also be a whole day activity if you'd like to have a nice peaceful day. Absolutely worth the visit.
One of the most important baroque gardens of Prague. What a beautiful respite from a hectic day. Beautiful views, peaceful and serene. Small entrance fee.
This is a special place that is easily overlooked and hard to find. Even the name is ambiguous (Palace Gardens). On a sunny afternoon in August I had the place almost to myself, due to its obscurity and the (modest) admission price. You will enjoy it, first of all, because it is an adventure. You climb up a very long staircase, not really aware of what is around you, and then you wind down various stairs, stopping at different levels. The different levels and variety of great views, plantings and (especially) architectural features reveal themselves gradually. The plantings are simple but elegant.
The Wallenstein Gardens is one of the few places in the world where you can see a white (albino) peacock. Incredibly beautiful. There are also the normal, colourful peacocks and the garden itself is stunning with little paths, fountains and amazing flowers and hedges etc. Serene and beautiful.
It is a lovely big park on the hill above Vltava River, with summertime beer garden next to one of the best views of the whole city There is an ice skating rink in the winter. The park with beer stands full up with the locals during the summer. Great view over the river, on the bridges of Prague, and architecture of old and new Prague offers a BIG chance for the photo buffs.
This park is an oasis of peace and tranquillity.
Spectacular views and wonderful wild life. (Keep an eye out for red squirrels foraging:-) There is a wooded area with a small pond and waterfall and an amazing grotto which incorporates classical architecture, and provides winding stone steps and small rooms for fun exploration. Artificial grottoes can also be seen here.
