About this experience

Longsheng County is within the Guilin area (prefecture), Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its main attraction is the Longji rice terraces ( Longji Titian), called Dragon Backbones by the locals. Also of interest are the hot springs and the small mountain villages among the wooded areas of trees and bamboos. Longji Terraced Field is located about 100km northeast of the downtown Guilin, about 2 hours' drive from Guilin. The rice terraces are built into the hillsides.

Detailed itinerary

At 9am, your tour guide and driver will sign yor name and meet you at the hotel lobby. After 1.5hrs driving, you will arrive in Longji tickets office and you will stop there to purchse the ticket then use the car again to the Dazhai village.

Stop 2

After a two-hour drive you will reach the entrance for the Longji Terraces and stop for 15 minutes and then head to Dazhai village.
The Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces is a splendid agricultural spectacle with a history of more than 650 years. The most eye-catching part of the terrace cluster is the Ping'an Village Rice Terrace, which was the earliest one discovered by tourists and photographers. Numerous narrow rice fields dug along the hill slopes form terraces connected by winding flagstone trails. There are viewing platforms for visitors to view the entire terrace fields built tier upon tier. While you are there you can also experience the minority Zhuang people's traditional way of life. It is quite interesting to help them in the fields, try on their bright-colored ethnical costumes, and visit their unique stilted houses.

Jinzhu Zhuang Village is located in Longsheng County, Guilin trips Golden Village, Heping Township, 16 km south-east from the county, and the world must Longji terrace adjacent to an area of 50,000 square meters, construction area of 35,000 square meters, Zhuang population 154 people. Golden Bamboo Village is a typical Zhuang Zhuang village, which has a distinctive architectural style Zhuang, 92, was hailed as a UNESCO Zhuang Village model, golden bamboo Zhuang Terraced Fields as its gateway to the scenic and famous overseas.

Stop 4 Pass by

Ping'an Zhuang Village accommodates more than 50 families with over 200 people. Most of them are Zhuang people and some are Yao people. The Zhuang minority nationality is the main nationality in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. One third of the population in Guangxi is comprised of the Zhuang people.

After the 40 miuntes driving from the tickets office, we will reach the Dazhai village, from there we will use the cable car to the No.3 view point and via the cable car, the tourists can skip the hours' climb and easily reach the top (Golden Buddha Peak) in less than 20 minutes to have the overlooks of the most rice terraces.

Note: From Longji tickets office to Dazhai, we will pass some local village villages, like the Jinzhu village and Huangluo Long hair village, but we should go to the cable car first because after the lunch(12:30pm), will have lot of tourists come to the cable car, so we can avoid the rush hour.
