Your experienced driver will welcome you to board 7 seater Buick MPV and transfer you to the first stop of today's trip, Huaqing Hot Springs and Lishan Mountain, which feature a documented history of almost three millennia. Setting against the backdrop of towering Lishan Mountain, Huaqing Hot Springs are the site of several imperial palaces used by the emperors of the Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui, and Tang dynasties. The sprawling palace complex includes a series of museums, halls, towers, bridges, temples, gardens and landmark buildings which pull back the curtain on the complex history of this location.
Drive to the Terracotta Warriors Museum after lunch time. Considered to be the 8th Wonder of the World, the Terracotta Warriors were buried to protect China's first emperor, Qin Shihuang in his afterlife more than 2000 years ago. While digging a well in 1974, local farmers stumbled upon broken pieces of terracotta. After a year of investigation and excavation, an estimated of 8000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses were uncovered in three pits. Other terracotta non-military figures were found in other pits, including officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians. The Terracotta Army is one of the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century in the world. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
