A place where you can get a glimpse of local life in 2-3 hours is the traditional market. Near the cruise terminal is the largest traditional market in Jeju (Dongmun Market). There, you can buy simple local food, snacks, and souvenirs.
And Not far from the market, there is a government office site that was the administrative center during the Joseon Dynasty. In other words, there is a Jeju Mok government office, so you can see Jeju's administrative agencies of the past. The architectural style is reminiscent of palaces from the Joseon Dynasty, making it perfect for taking pictures.
If you take a city tour, you will go to the open sea to see Yongduam Rock, which was naturally formed by lava activity nearby.

Detailed itinerary

The largest and oldest traditional market
Dongmun Traditional Market is located in the center of Jeju Island and is the largest and most historic permanent traditional market. It is a place where locals and tourists visit all year round as it boasts a huge scale.
During the day, you can enjoy the market that contains the lives of Jeju Island merchants, and at night, you can enjoy the charm of a night market full of food. It sells all kinds of products such as Jeju specialties, souvenirs, clothing, and food, so it can be called Jeju's general store. It is also close to Jeju Airport, so it is a good place to stop by and shop before leaving.
As it is the largest market, there are many entrances. There are a total of 12 entrances, so it is more convenient to check the gate number when visiting Dongmun Traditional Market.
The food alley that people frequently visit is between Gate 8 and Gate 10, and the night market opens near Gate 8 from 6 PM.

Jeju Mokgwana
Designated as a historic site on March 31, 1993. The designated area is 19,533 m2.
As a result of the Jeju National University excavation team's two rounds of excavations conducted from October to December 1991 and May to December 1992, various cultural layers from the Tamna period to the Joseon Dynasty were confirmed. In addition, the location and size of the main facilities of the Jeju Mokgwana during the Joseon Dynasty, such as the Dongheon and Naea buildings, were confirmed, revealing that this was an important historical site that served as the center of politics, administration, and culture on Jeju Island from ancient times to the Joseon Dynasty.
According to the Hongwha-gak-gi written by Godeukjong in 1435 (17th year of King Sejong’s reign), the government facilities

Yongduam, located on the northeastern coast of the airport, is a symbol of Jeju tourism. It is the closest tourist attraction to the airport and is frequently visited by overseas travelers and group travelers. It was named Yongduam after its shape, which resembles a dragon rising from the sea. According to legend, a dragon that lived in the nearby valley of Yongyeon tried to ascend to heaven but turned into stone. The height of the exposed part is 10m, and the length of its body submerged in the sea is about 30m, so if you gaze at the strange rock, you might imagine that it really is a dragon wriggling.
To properly appreciate this Yongduam, it is best to go about 100m to the west, and it is better on days when the waves are strong than on days when the sea is calm. It feels as if the creation of heaven and earth is taking place, or as if a dragon is rising from the sea while roaring in the wrath of a god.
