Blue Pond, also known as Platinum Blue Pond due to its proximity to Tokachidake Shirogane Hot Spring, exhibits subtly changing water colors throughout the seasons and weather conditions. From mid-May to late June, under clear skies and calm weather without rain or wind, the pond water appears as a clear and transparent cobalt blue, resembling a dreamlike scene. During other seasons, the hue varies, ranging from ordinary blue to blue-green tones. In winter, when snow covers the surroundings and the pond's vegetation, the landscape takes on a magical quality, even before the water freezes.
