Discover three of the best sites in Yogyakarta on this trip to Punthuk Setumbu Sunrise, Borobudur and Prambanan temples. Your driver (english speaking) will pick you up early for sunrise at Setumbu Hill, at 3.45 am. You’ll then visit two more temples for a fullday out. This is a Private tour so, no sharing with a large group, and you can at your own place.

When the population converted to Islam in the 14th century, Borobudur was abandoned. Today the temple is protected by Unesco with ongoing restoration and maintenance to keep the temple looking it’s best.
Enjoy yourself a quiet spot to sit and wait for the sun to rise over the Horizon from the top of temple, enjoying the serene and spiritual atmosphere that seems to have infiltrated every rock via. As you look out to the hills and forests surrounding you it isn’t hard to imagine how explorers must have felt when they stumbled out of the forest in 1814 to find such a sight lost to the world for almost 500 years.

According to the inscription of Siwargha plaque, the temple was constructed during the reign of Rakai Pikatan (mid ninth century) of Ancient Mataram Kingdom.. See the three temples decorated with reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities (Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma) and three temples dedicated to the animals who serve them.
