Óbidos (Medieval Town) Half Day Private Tour from Lisbon

The tour departs directly for medieval Óbidos. Expect a short, comfortable highway trip of around 60 minutes.

With Lisbon behind us, suddenly a rocky hill topped with a castle rises on the horizon - it's Óbidos. This picturesque town located in the west region of Portugal is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture and charming atmosphere, making it a popular destination for travelers.

One of the town's main attractions is its medieval castle, which dates back to the 12th century.

Also dating from the 12th century, you'll discover the church of Santa Maria, located in Óbidos' main square, with beautiful Manueline and Gothic architecture. Inside, you can admire the ornate decorations and historic works of art.

The town is surrounded by well-preserved medieval walls, offering excellent views of the surrounding countryside. You can take a pleasant stroll along the ramparts and admire the landscape. The town's narrow, cobbled streets are lined with charming whitewashed houses adorned with colorful flowers, creating a picturesque setting that is perfect for exploring on foot.

The town is also known for its craft stores selling local handicrafts, ceramics and souvenirs. Here it will be hard to resist grabbing a souvenir.

(TASTING) Of course... you won't want to miss the opportunity to taste Óbidos' famous liqueur, Ginjinha, made from sour cherries and served in chocolate cups. Just enjoy it. It's on us.

(OPTIONAL) Suddenly it's time to head back to Lisbon, but if you want to have lunch locally (nearby, by the Atlantic, you can taste some of the best fish and seafood in the world) or continue discovering the region until the end of the day, just talk to us. Back to the Lisbon area. The journey takes between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the optional visits you make and whether you decide to have lunch on site.
