The viewpoint is in the churchyard of the small hermitage and was remodeled twice in the 20th century. As it is located at the highest point in Bairro da Graça, it is one of the places with the best panoramic views of the city, especially over Mouraria and Castelo de São Jorge.

It dates back to a church, begun in 1582, in an area that identifies the context of the medieval surroundings of the city of Lisbon in the 16th century.
