The Romanesque-style building of the Cathedral began to be built in 1147 and was completed in the first decades of the 13th century.

The viewpoint is in the churchyard of the small hermitage and was remodeled twice in the 20th century. As it is located at the highest point in Bairro da Graça, it is one of the places with the best panoramic views of the city, especially over Mouraria and Castelo de São Jorge.
