The Jeju Haenyeo Museum is located in a fishing village overlooking the white sandy beach in Sehwa-ri, Gujwa-eup. The garden in front of the museum was the second gathering place for the haenyeo who participated in the January 1932 protest, the largest women's anti-Japanese movement in Korea. The Jeju Haenyeo Anti-Japanese Movement Monument was built there to honor the spirit of the Haenyeo Anti-Japanese Movement, showing the tenacity of Jeju women's lives.
